IT’S Switzerland – but as you’ve never heard it before. Electronic artist Thylacine has created a new piece of music made up entirely of 200 different sounds recorded across the country.
The French electronic guru spent 16 days travelling across Switzerland, taking 23 trains, three gondolas, two boats and a bus to reach the destinations he wanted to film and record.
The result is Swiss Sounds, a remarkable piece which lasts just short of three minutes but which has already racked up more than a million views on Youtube.

Thylacine – real name William Rezé – teamed up with Switzerland Tourism in Paris to make his musical exploration of the sounds and sights he transformed into instruments.

They include the sounds of trains, boots crunching through Alpine snow, the clanging of milk trucks, dripping water in ice caves, the lapping of tranquil lakes and many more.

He even perched precariously on top of an Alpine gondola to capture one particular segment.
Thylacine’s previous work draws inspiration from his travels, and he has created immersive albums on journeys such as a trip on the Trans-Siberian Railway and trekking in South America.
