DELIGHTED to see a real heavy metal attraction that’s home to superheroes, monsters and villains top new popularity poll findings rating favourite days out in the West Midlands.
Media specialists One Day Agency analysed Tripadvisor reviews for attractions across the region to uncover which of them visitors have responded to most positively.
And taking first place is The British Ironwork Centre, near Oswestry in Shropshire, an amazing attraction that I visited earlier this year. You can read my feature-length review here.
Researchers considered both the percentage of five-star reviews and the total number of reviews received. The attraction scored 75.61 out of 100, based on a deep dive into 6,480 Tripadvisor reviews, with no fewer than 83.32% awarding five stars.
I can confirm that it’s a great day out – one of those five-star reviews will have been mine!

Alexandra Gonçalves, Paid Media Manager at One Day Agency, says: “Smaller, specialist attractions can have an advantage because the experience often feels more personal.
“At this type of venue, visitors may spend more time speaking to knowledgeable staff, get closer to the subject and see the enthusiasm of the people running it. Those details tend to stick with people when they leave a review.”
